Troop 290 targeted the next two crossings heading east from Laurelwood (Crossing #3 and #4) for the first service project of 1999. Sixteen scouts and a few adults spent the day, and some "sweat" working on new bridges. The bridges were designed, lumber cut, and then assembled. The old bridge, a temporary structure, was disassembled and removed. Finally, anchored placement and decking were completed.
The entire process is a learning process. For example, Scouts learned the carpenter's adage:

Measure twice, cut once.
