ELIGIBILITY:
Scouts must attend 75% of all meetings and 66% of all outings and service projects to be considered: active in the troop, eligible for advancement and able to take part in outings, trips, and activities. Eligibility To Be Assessed Quarterly.
Patrol Leaders must be First Class and they and Assistant Patrol Leaders must attend 75% of All meetings To Include Patrol Leaders Councils.
High Adventure Scouts must be Star rank with First Aid merit badge.
Scouts are expected to try and meet the #24 goal in wreath sales, those who do not will be expected to make up the balance to troop funds on a pro-rated basis. Any scout with special needs will be considered privately by adult leaders.
EXCUSED ABSENCES: Sickness/and
not at school. Music; Sports or Rec events.
INFORMATION: If you are
not at a meeting it is YOUR responsibility to find out!
E-Mail recipients: to check in a timely manner.
TENTS: Must be returned
CLEAN and DRY at the Next meeting, no exceptions! Two groundcloths
must be used with all troop tents, one underneath the tent floor
and one inside to cover
the floor.
SHAKEDOWNS: To be held
at 7:00 PM before the Troop Meeting. The List must be honored
100% for your own safety and well being. In other words if gear
is missing, the scout does not go.
TROOP EQUIPMENT: Must
be accounted for at start of camp and finish. Cleaned and put
away dry. The patrol will clean it again at troop meeting, otherwise.
NO audio / video / electronic games / beepers / cell-phones are permitted at Any Troop event or outing. If a parent permits his child to use one enroute it must remain in the vehicle. Straight-fixed blade knives are similarly banned.
Exception: Handheld C.B.'s
or Walkie Talkies permitted with the Scoutmaster's Prior approval.
For usage on hikes etc.
PUBLIC SERVICE As part
of being a scout, troop members are expected to take part with
a minimum of 66% active participation in public service projects.
The following were decided upon by T-290 scouts as in-troop punishments:
Misbehavior during instruction/opening/closing ceremonies:
1st. occurrence Warning
2nd. occurrence 10 push-ups
3rd. occurrence total silence-timeout
4th. occurrence talk by Scoutmaster.
1st. occurrence Miss out on activity or have extra jobs[clean-up]
2nd. occurrence 500 word Essay on related topic
3rd. occurrence talk by Scoutmaster, possible dismissal from event/outing/camp.
Scouts: Have primary responsibility for their actions. We encourage Self-Control.
Must observe safety rules for their own security and that of others.
Any adult leader [or parent on a trip] has the right to correct unruly individuals at any place at any time.
Shall show respect for the person and property of
others to include troop equipment and that of Council while at
camp.
As a member of TROOP 290 I have read, understand
